The Pak-UK Joint Judicial Co-operation Working Group (JJCWG) has proved helpful in enhancing bilateral judicial co-operation between the two countries and Pakistan is looking forward to early singing of Transfer of Prisoners' Agreement and conclusion of Extradition Treaty with UK, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said.
Talking to Lord Peter Goldsmith, Attorney General of UK who called on him here on Wednesday, the Prime Minister emphasised the need to strengthen co-operation between Pakistan and UK in security matters.
He said the threat of terrorism which transcends national borders requires a co-ordinated and co-operative approach from all States to combat it effectively. The Prime Minister said Pakistan is committed to fighting this scourage out of conviction and national interest.
Talking of Afghanistan, the Prime Minister said the solution to the challenges faced by Afghanistan lies in Afghanistan Pakistan desires to see peace and stability in Afghanistan, which is important for Afghanistan, Pakistan and the region.
Pakistan, the Prime Minister said, has extended every possible assistance to the Afghan government for establishing peace and stability there. Stability in Afghanistan will help three million Afghan refugees living in Pakistan return to their homeland, the Prime Minister added.-PR
