Leader of trade delegation and President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) India, Sanjay Bhatia has emphasised the need of pressurising political leaders of both the countries to act fast and improve trade, economic and political relations.
Addressing members of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Thursday said the delegation wants to discuss trade-related issues with Prime Minister and Commerce Minister of Pakistan. He said, he has already approached Prime Minister and Commerce Minister seeking time.
Sanjay Bhatia said the object of delegation is to visit Expo 2007 besides discussing ways and means to increase two way trades with Pakistani business community.
He said India is very advance in agriculture and food processing and can help Pakistan developing this sector. He also emphasised the need of establishing industrial units in joint venture. He pleaded for tourism development and said peoples of both the countries are interested to see historic religious sites.
Former President PHDCCI, Ravi Wing said the delegation is interested to identify products, which can be imported from Pakistan.
He also pleaded for opening Wagha border for trade. He emphasised the need of having units in joint venture to jointly market products in third country. Speaking on the occasion, Leader of Shanghai Business Delegation, Miss Zheng Hong said the delegation wants to see the investment climate of Pakistan.
She noted that it is for the first time that Indian and Chinese delegation are jointly attending a meeting of KCCI. She said the delegation is also interested to increase two way trades.
Welcoming the guests, President, KCCI Majyd Aziz emphasised for looking at possibilities of establishing economic union with the ambit of Saarc. He said China investing around 15 billion dollars in Pakistan.
