President General Pervez Musharraf has urged the nation to shun extremism and radicalism and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to regain the glorified image of Muslim Ummah.
"Today, we are being humiliated in the world in various realms which is because of our refrainment from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). To attain benediction before Allah Almighty and the blessings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and also to gain success in the world, we need to review our deeds in the light of moderate and great teachings of Islam," President Musharraf said in his felicitation message on Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
President Musharraf said it was a matter of grief that the Muslims had diverted from the upright path and had become slaves to their vested interests, malicious desires and self-created limitations which was affecting the collective image of Ummat-e-Muhammadia.
"Abomination, ignorance, egoism and extremism in our views have ruined ourselves. Lack of wisdom, radicalism and our shortcomings have captured our minds and hearts. We were expected to be the 'rulers of the skies' but we could not get enable ourselves to attain even its lowest level," the President said. He said Sunnat-e-Nabavi (Peace Be Upon Him) was the only path which could lead the Muslims to worldly success and absolution in the world hereafter.
About Eid Milad-un-Nabi, President Musharraf said the day was a true depiction of the ecstasy with regard to the birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
"The day also signifies to follow the great teachings and message of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and to glorify our lives in light of his Uswa-e-Hasana (noble practices and deeds)." President Musharraf said Muslims are revered for belonging to a Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), who has been bestowed by Allah Almighty with the title of Rehmatulil Alameen (Blessing for all the worlds).
He mentioned the kindness and benevolence of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), which had been a source of blessings for kins and strangers, friends and foes, and the young and the old ones. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has urged the nation to present the true face of Islam before the world, and prove by their acts that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony.
"We need to prove from our words and deeds that Islam is a religion of peace and co-existence. Its golden principles have great ability to provide basic outline in resolving worldly affairs and creating a peaceful exemplary society," the Prime Minister said in a felicitation message on the occasion of Eid Milad un Nabi (SAW).
Prime Minister Aziz said today's world was confronted with various problems, to which solution could be found in the light of Quranic teachings and Seerat un Nabi.
"Prophet Muhammad's (Peace Be Upon Him) Seerat provides eternal guidance on worldly issues may it at individual or collective level. The need is to take guidance from it and present Islam before the world its true spirit," the Prime Minister said.
About 12th Rabiul Awwal, the Prime Minister said it was a significant day in the history of man as Allah Almighty sent Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to this world as Rehmatulil Alameen (Blessing for all the worlds).
He said, "Every aspect of the Seerat (life and practices) is a complete code of guidance for humanity and the entire life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is an open book before us."
He said Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) can be regarded as a model human being in every aspect. The sacredness of a human being, sanctity of human blood, importance of brotherhood among the people and the welfare of humanity are the basics of Quranic teachings.
Prime Minister Aziz said the objective of these teachings is to develop among human beings the great values based on fraternity, sense of sacrifice for each other, mutual affinity and respect to strengthen peaceful co-existence. The life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the practical depiction of the same teachings.
He said, "I pray that may Allah Almighty guide every Muslim to understand the essence of Quranic message and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)."
