Our Power Generation Industrial Application and oil & Gas division is one of the leading solution providers for captive power generation, co-generation applications in industries and up stream & down stream compressor solutions for Oil and Gas sector. Its range of products and services primarily features gas turbines for industrial applications with ratings up to 50 MW, steam turbines up to 160 MW and the associated services. We are one of leading solution provider for the Wind turbine solution world wide. World largest off-shore wind farm has been established from Siemens (Bonus Energy) in 2005.
Siemens Pakistan Power Generation Unit is establishing Pakistan's first state of art power and desalination plant for Defence Housing Authority Karachi. It will be an outdoor installation and consist of 94 MW (ISO) Combined Cycle Power Plant and 3 MGD Desalination plant. The Power Plant delivers the process steam to adjacent desalination plant. The site is located in Phase-VIII, Defence Housing Authority Karachi.
This plant will not only support the DHA to improve its water shortage situation but also contribute KESC to improve its electricity supply situation in Karachi. Recently, Siemens has provided state of the art technology Steam Turbine to Pulp and Paper industry in collaboration with Siemens Industrial Turbo Machinery Punjab Region. it is a cogeneration application steam turbine of 41 MW designed with 10 different load point conditions to meet the power and steam requirement according to process needs.
As reliable local and regional partner, Service Center Pakistan is established in Power Generation Business Unit since 1997 and serving the local market Power Plant maintenances successfully and has expanded its operations in the Gulf Market with high class skilled services.
We provided Power Plant Maintenance Services including turbine/ generator major overhauling, Life Time Extensions to Kot Addu, Rousch Power, Fauji Kabirwala in the local market and to Bahrain, Libya, Iraq, Bangladesh and UAE in international market. Apart from schedule maintenance and services, we are also providing long term operational and maintenance support to the utilities and various power plants Siemens Pakistan has scored resounding success in the power generation field. Some of the main achievements are
Siemens received orders for two new substations from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and for one substation from Dubai Festival City in the United Arab Emirates. Siemens completed a contract by Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) for a project linking the HUBCO power station to KESC. The successful, on-time completion of this project will have a vital and positive effect on the power supply situation in Karachi.
Siemens also received an order from KESC to supply three new substations and one load dispatch center. In addition, Siemens is supplying a combined-cycle power plant for power and desalination to the Defence Housing Society. This is the first project of its kind to be built in Pakistan.
IN RECOGNITION OF ITS SERVICES AND ACHIEVEMENTS, SIEMENS HAS RECEIVED A NUMBER OF MAJOR AWARDS, INCLUDING:

Siemens' involvement in the region dates back more than 130 years, to the construction of the Indo-European telegraph line from London to Calcutta in 1870. Siemens' first office in what is now Pakistan opened in 1922. The Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company Ltd was founded as a private company in 1953, and reorganised as a public limited company in 1963. Siemens is actively involved in university education in Pakistan.
In 1997, the company set up a program to award gold medals to the best engineering students at Pakistani universities. Siemens offers full scholarships to students in the fields of medicine, engineering and business and runs a three-year apprenticeship course at its facility in Karachi. We also demonstrated our commitment to social responsibility by contributing relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake in Kashmir in December 2005. Spearheaded by the global Caring Hands Program, Siemens' overall contribution amounted to US $2 million.
