Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim met with the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad here at the Governor House on Thursday, and deliberated on various important matters including the steps to control crimes, electricity supply situation and job opportunities.
They also reviewed the progress of the ongoing development projects in the province. Besides taking stock of measures to control crimes, they stressed on community policing.
The two leaders praised people, Ulema and law enforcement agencies for peace, unity and harmony exhibited on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). They hoped that this pleasant environment would be maintained with mutual co-operation.
While reviewing the power supply situation in the metropolis, it was directed to keep the concerned officials activated to maintain the supply of required electricity from Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda). The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) was stressed to expedite work on its projects to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity.
The meeting also discussed various measures to improve job opportunities in public and private sector. It directed to ensure that all recruitment in government departments are made on merit and according to rules and regulations.
The Governor and the Chief Minister pointed out that the government's performance had been prominent and positive results were achieved with regard to good governance and financial discipline in the province. They said all possible steps would be taken to keep up and further improve this situation. Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Home Affairs Wasim Akhtar was present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad was to leave for Muscat on Thursday night on a two-day private visit.
