Chairman, Pakistan Consumer Association (PCA) and member of managing committee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Mohammed Haroon Agar said that the basic purpose of Trade Organisation Ordinance (TOO) 2006 was to eliminate bogus and fake chambers and association.
Taking to newsmen here on Friday, he said that some of the leaders of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) were opposing this ordinance to hold seats in FPCCI on the bases of these fake trade bodies. He pointed out that in recent past, office bearers of FPCCI had not only approved the draft of the TOO but also pleaded the leadership of Businessmen Panel to eliminate bogus and fake trade bodies
Stressing the importance of the ordinance he said that the ordinance was prepared after taking business community into confidence and examining it carefully. On the occasion he claimed that over 75 percent trade bodies have accepted all the clauses of the ordinance.
