Justice Arshad Jehangir of Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, has unseated Punjab Minister for Labour Muhammad Qasim Noon and declared him as losing candidate from PP-205 (Shujabad), and declared PML-N nominee Mehdi Abbas Langah as winner, Court official said.
Returning officer Multan had already declared him losing candidate when the official result was declared. But later Qasim moved the Election Tribunal, which declared him successful candidate.
When contacted Qasim declined to comment on the judgement of the High Court. However, he hinted at moving the Supreme Court, challenging the decision. PML-N MNA Mehmoodul Hassan, Allah Nawaz Khan Durrani, Noor-ul-Hassan, MPA Nafees Ahmed Ansari, and Tariq Rasheed said that it was a success of truth. They also distributed sweets.
