The District Bar Association (DBA) Kasur has suspended the memberships of 19 lawyers, including two parliamentary secretaries (MPAs) and two former DBA presidents for attending the government sponsored lawyers' convention at Al-hamra in Lahore, according to a press release issued by the bar.
DBA president Chaudhry Munir Ahmad sent the names to the Punjab Bar Council for the cancellation of their licenses. These lawyers had attended the convention against the instructions by the Punjab Bar Council. They include parliamentary secretaries Malik Ahmad Saeed Khan and Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, former DBA presidents Sardar Muhammad Ashiq Dogar and Sardar Qurban Ali Dogar and the lawyers Malik Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Mahmood Ahmad, Malik Riaz Ahmad Khan, Muhammad Shafique Khan, Hafiz Rizwan Aziz, Ghulam Murtaza Ansari, Hassan Din Ansari, M M Shafique, Mehar Wazir Ali, Sardar Humayun Khan, Ali Ahmad, Muhammad Aslam, Javed Iqbal, Malik Nawaz and Miss Shazia Gillani.
