The Holy Quran by itself is a gold mine of knowledge and wisdom that guides the humanity on how to lead lives and discover the hidden values and blessings of nature after seeking further education.
This was stated by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shafaat Ullah Shah, who is also the President of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore, at groundbreaking ceremony of Defence Degree College for Boys on Wednesday.
Lieutenant General Shafaat said that the DHA had always been mindful of providing efficient services of best possible amenities to its residents, which has made it one of the most popular and prestigious housing projects of the country. He said, "The educational institutions equipped with a team of mature, dedicated and motivated academia can play a vital role in grooming our youth in healthy minds as well as men of integrity and character."
Later, the Corps Commander unveiled the plaque of Defence Degree College for Boys and prayed for the success of the new project. He announced a grant of Rs 100,000 for Ambreen who achieved high position in "A" level world class examinations and further announced the policy of awarding Rs 100,000 as incentive for topping in board as well as "A" and "0" level examinations in future competitions.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion Brigadier Fazal Nawaz Khan, Administrator DHA said that education had always remained the top priority of the DHA. He said that the college will be spread over an area of 110 kanals and project will be completed in two years with the cost of Rs 300 million including 34 spacious class-rooms, multi-purpose hall, amphitheatre, labs, library, computer lab, covered sports complex and playing grounds with all other allied facilities.
