Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that the government has already made a deal with people of the country for their prosperity and bright future.
Talking to the PTV he said that there is no need of any deal with any political party, especially with those who plundered the national wealth during their rule. The leadership in the past pushed the country towards extremism and terrorism and left the national exchequer empty. "How could we have a deal with such leaders?" he asked.
To a question he said, "We want to resolve issues through dialogue. That is why negotiations are continuing with various political and religious leaders." "We have been talking with everyone including the opposition parties as this is responsibility of the government." The Minister said that the government has consistently followed the policy of listening to other's viewpoint and hold talks on various issues.
He made it clear that only the issue of elections was being discussed with the opposition parties including PPPP, so that there should be no apprehensions. Responding to a question, he said that Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif are trying to the masses for their set targets and they have no election plan or agenda and have no past performance to their credit.
Durrani said that a presidential spokesman and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have made clear statements that no deal would be made with plunderers. To another question he said that Benazir's political career is already in the doldrums, and rumours are being circulated to achieve political mileage. He said that all organs of the government are running with proper co-ordination and ruled out any change in the present setup.
