Nazim, City District Peshawar, Haji Ghulam Ali Wednesday has demolished the wall of Governor's House for expansion of the busy Shershah Soori Road connecting city and cantonment areas.
The nazim himself operated the crane in presence of District Naib Nazim Razaullah Chagramati, Nazim Town-I, Haji Shaukat Ali and nazims of various union councils of Peshawar city and media.
The new wall would be constructed 25-feet to pave way for the construction of five carriageways. The project of the widening of the Shershah Soori Road section Governor's House-Provincial Assembly would cost Rs 50.5 million and would be completed soon.
Speaking on the occasion, Nazim, City District Haji Ghulam Ali termed the launching of work on the project a milestone in the development of Peshawar, saying that they are implementing their elections pledges one-by-one.
The completion of the project, he said would give relief to all those who passing through the roads and people. He said that due to sensitivities of the location, the wall would be reconstructed in a period of one-month.
He was thankful to Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai for his co-operation in starting work on such important project in the city. "Allowing the demolition of the wall was a historic decision and would go long way in the development of the district," Ghulam Ali added.
