Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Saturday instructed the chief secretary to initiate action against the builders of the multi-storey Defence View Phase -II on land earmarked for single unit bungalows.
In a directive issued to the chief secretary the chief minister has asked him to take action against the builders for carrying out illegal construction and against those officers who had connived with them.
The Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) in a report about illegal construction had reported to the chief minister that the said building had been constructed on land earmarked for single unit bungalows as the entire area is located in the earthquake zone. The team has found the construction illegal and proposed demolition of the entire structure as it would be dangerous for the people living in it and in its surrounding.
