Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and other representatives of lawyers condemned the torture on journalists and photographers by persons in black coats in Karachi during the procession against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan.
While talking to newsmen, the office bearers of the bar Ehsan Bohan, Sarfraz Cheema former Vice-Chairman Hafiz Abdur Rehman Ansari and other representatives of the bar said that lawyers believe in democracy and they could not do such act against the journalists.
They said journalists and bar members are fighting together against the dictatorship of President Musharraf and hence they could not torture journalists.
They said it was a conspiracy to create differences among lawyers and journalists and added that they would not allow the agencies to succeed in their nefarious motives. They said lawyers and journalists would continue to fight for the independence of judiciary and fundamental rights of the people of Pakistan.
