As many as 11 sub-divisional officers (SDOs), junior engineers, assistant managers and 21 other employees of Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) have been served final show-cause notices for dismissal from service under Removal from Service Ordinance on the charges of misconduct and wilful absence from duty.
Wapda sources told newsmen here on Saturday that those served the notices include Zafar Mahmood, Assistant Design Engineer, Wapda House; Abdur Razzaq, Assistant Manager, Raiwind Sub-division; Habib-ur-Rehman, Assistant Engineer, NTDC 500 KV grid, Muzaffargarh; Iftikhar Ahmad, Assistant Manager, NTDC, Wapda House; Arif Asghar Khattak, Junior Engineer, Ghazi Barotha Project; Salah-ud-Din, SDO, Pind Dadan Khan Sub division; Hafiz Hamid Arif, SDO, Chakwal; Muhammad Chang3ez Khan, SDO, Kalar Kahar Sub-division; Fayyaz Ahmad, Junior Engineer, Hydrology Organisation, Wapda House; Saqib Saeed, Assistant Manager,P&D, Lesco; Obaidullah Sheikh, Junior Engineer, Thermal Power Station, Jamshoro; and other field staff has been served the final show-cause notice for dismissal from service. These officials have been given about two weeks margin period to submit their reply, failing which their services will stand terminated.
