NFC-Institute of Engineering and Fertiliser Research (NFC-IEFR) and Wapda will ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a special ceremony to be held at Governor's Secretariat, Lahore on April 23.
Under this MoU, NFC will launch new degree programs in civil electrical and electrical power programs while Wapda will provide its laboratories in Wapda Engineering Academy Faisalabad for the practical training of the students.
Major General Zafar Abbas (Retd) Chairman NFC and Chairman Wapda Tariq Hameed will ink the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Dr Javaid Rabbani Khan director NFC-IEFR said on Monday that Wapda Engineering Academy was fully equipped with latest gadgets for the education and training of students studying in BSc electrical and electrical power courses.
Dr Rabbani said that NFC-IEFR was preparing to start new degree programs to earn a status of an independent university.
He said that during this meeting, he would also give detailed presentations on steps taken to transform this institute into an independent university.
He said that the meeting would also discuss the issues for the development of NFC-IFER Faisalabad into an independent University.
Dr Javed Rabbani Khan Director NFC-IFER will give presentation on the development of the NFC. He will also present a report of the technical committee to declare this institute into an independent University.
Major General Mahboob-ul-Muzaffar (Retd) Registrar Pakistan Engineering Council, Tahir Basharat Cheema chief Engineer Wapda, Syed Mubasgar Raza Special Secretary Health Engineering Punjab, Javed Khan Director General Accreditation and Attestation Higher Education Commission, Professor Dr A.H. Qureshi Dean Mechanical and Power Engineering University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and Professor Dr Waris Ali Dean Faculty of Civil Engineering UET will also attend this meeting.
