Four passengers killed and 36 injured seriously in head on collision between two buses near here on Saturday night.
As per details, an air conditioned bus (1129-LWN) was going to Multan from Gujranwala and when reached in front of Chak No 187/ 9-L, adjacent to Aziz Tanneries on Lahore-Multan Road, it struck head on with an other bus of marriage party coming from Vehari to Lahore. As a result of accident four passengers of marriage party's bus namely Allah Rakhi w/o Abdul Rasheed, her brother Arshad, her cousin Muhammad Akram and an other unknown killed on the spot while 36 sustained serious injuries.
The condition of 15 injured persons including Sadiq (Kamonki), Rafique (Lahore), Haji Ashfaque (Hasilpur), Ghulam Shabbir-bridegroom (Chak 577-EB), Irfan (Nawaan Shehr-Multan), Mubbashir (unknown), Imran, Allah Ditta, Asghar Ali (Luddan), Afzal (Burewala), Bashiraan w/o Maqsood (Vehari), Asif (Kamonki), Qasim (Kamonki), Sadiq s/o Behadur (Chak 577-EB) and Rehmat Bibi (Chak 577-EB) is critical in the hospital.
The five injured including Nabeela-7, Razia-2, Shafique-13, Hanif-14 and old woman Hamidaan Bibi were discharged from hospital after first aid. Meanwhile emergency was declared in the DHQ hospital Sahiwal. But when the injured were brought in the hospital, electricity was off due to load shedding and necessary operations were conducted through artificial light arranged with continuous start of two motorcycles. The police have registered a case. The drivers of both buses slipped away from the scene.
