Britain will support Pakistan on all issues in the European Union (EU), assured newly posted British Deputy Head Mission, Tony Hackett. Addressing members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday, he said that Britain also desires to increase trade with Pakistan.
He informed that some British traders also intended to participate in the KCCI exhibition scheduled to be held in June this year. Regarding visa, he said it is no more a problem for the business community. The British High Commission issues visa on the recommendation of KCCI.
He informed that from October 1, 2007 visa seekers do not require to contact the British High Commission for fingerprints. Arraignments have been made at Fedex for taking fingerprints at the time of filing application through Fedex.
The out-going British Deputy Head Mission Ron Rimmer said that a number of student appear in A level and O level examination throughout the world out of them some from Pakistan acquire top positions.
Welcoming the guests, President, KCCI, Majyd Aziz said that KCCI has planned to hold a three days exhibition at Karachi Art Consul for the uplift of women cottage industry from May 4 to 6, 2007. In this exhibition women garment manufactures, handicraft, food items producers' etc will exhibit their products and offer for sale at concessional price.
