Private sector airline, Airblue, is expanding its services to the United Kingdom from June 1. This was announced here on Tuesday at the launch of eCargo service, first of its kind in the country, to cater to the air freight market of Pakistan, UAE, and UK.
Addressing the board meeting, Airblue Director, Commercial, Syed Nasir Ali, said that the service has been made available to the cargo community from April 16. It is a matter of great pride for the company that the service would be fulfilling reward for the associated business community. ECargo is yet another milestone achieved by this youngest private airline of Pakistan, he said.
Airblue's eCargo will broaden the base of cargo and will permit certified agents to book cargo directly on-line opening the inventory through the web, and allowing for more competitive pricing, thus making the transportation of goods more affordable to the consumer.
Pakistan's new generation airline, which was launched on June 18, 2004, has recorded the fastest growth and is now the largest private airline of Pakistan, operating more than 200 flights every week within Pakistan and to UAE.
The induction of a dedicated cargo division in Airblue would offer more than 70,000 kg cargo space on more than 18 flights everyday. This space induction would help the businesses to ship their goods faster.
To facilitate the customer, the airline has set up its eCargo pickup and drop-off locations at convenient locations near the city airports. The launch of eCargo service would be further expanded to the consumer's doorsteps very soon. The expansion plan would give the customer the convenience to book their shipments online by visiting the Airblue website and booking the shipment.
