The Karachi Port handled 53,795 tonnes cargo including 29,353 tonnes import, 24,442 tonnes export cargo and 3,912 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The cargo comprised of 52,695 tonnes dry cargo including 46,456 tonnes general cargo; 5,021 tonnes cement; 1,218 tonnes wheat and 1,100 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Gulf Bridge, MOL Silver Fern, Viking Merlin, Johar, Pontonikis and West Ward Venture sailed out to sea during the report period.
Six vessels viz APL Yokohama, Y M Faha, MOL Silver Fern, Viking Merlin, West Ward Venture, and Chem Baltic are currently at the berths. One ship namely APL Yokohama expected to sail on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Chem Baltic, Banglar Mookh, and Hyundai Future are expected to sail on Thursday.
Three vessel viz Hyundai Future, Y M Sun, and Oel Esteem due to arrive on Wednesday, while five ships namely Sinar Agra, Oel Victory, Comorin Pride, APL Orchid and Yick Wing are due to arrive on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 8,946 tonnes diesel oil; 2,917 tonnes canola seeds; 2,516 tonnes chemicals; 1,457 tonnes cement; 1,801 tonnes wheat; and 28,169 tonnes containerised cargo.
Four ships namely C.V. Maersk Georgia, M.V. Full Comfort, M.T. Eastern Aminty and M.T. Warba sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. Three vessels viz C.V. Nedlloyd Asia, C.V. Bagdad and M.V. Dareen are expected to sail on Wednesday.
A total of six ships carrying furnace oil, chemicals, seeds, edible oil and crude oil namely Grigo Roussia-I, Sinar Agra, Pessada, Jupiter Applause, Bow Plata and Chemroad Lily are currently at the outer anchorage.
Four ships namely M.V. Jupiter Applause, M.T. Bow Plata, M.T. Grigo Roussia-I and M.T. Sinar Agra due to take berths at Fotco Terminal, Engro Pak Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz M.T. Chemroad Hero, M.T. Oriental Miho and M.T. Al-Salam due to arrive on Wednesday, while another ship namely C.V. Dubai is due to arrive on Thursday.
