President Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Zakir Mehmood has said that after privatisation not only a healthy competition had been observed in banking sector but banks & public both were coming nearer to each other through IT technology.
Addressing the branch managers of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) at Chenab Club Faisalabad, he said that online banking was being promoted in HBL and till the end of current year about 600 branches of HBL would start on-line banking.
Zakir Mehmood said that 30 branches of HBL were being made as model branches, while two branches had since been converted into model branches in Karachi. He stressed on the HBL officers to promote customer care service. He said that at present technology was the tool of progress, whosoever moved forward with it, he would lead the others.
Earlier, Regional Chief Executive HBL, Qazi Badar ud Din presented the address of welcome and briefed the HBL President about the performance of the region. Abid Sattar Group Executive Retail Banking, Seema Kamil Group Executive Corporate Banking and Saleem Baig Group Executive Commercial Banking were also present on the occasion. HBL President, Zakir Mehmood, hastened to the problems of the bank employees with patience and attention and issued on the spot orders for their redressal.
Later awards were given to the Branch Managers Kahlid Javed, Zahid Hussain, Aftab Ahmad, Mian Ghulam Abbas, Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Arshad Shakir in recognition of their appreciable performance.
