A seminar on gold crafting is being organised by Pak Gem and Jewellery Development Co (PGJDC) at a local hotel on April 19. The government of Pakistan has recently formed PGJDC as a company, under section 42 of the company's act 1984.
It is non-profit public-private entity for the development of gems and jewellery sector in the country. The main objective of the company is the uplift of gems and jewellery sector and boosting of export by implementing the initiative identified by the sector.
Peter Raw, an international expert, will conduct the seminar covering the following aspects: assaying and hall marking, refining, karat gold alloy, soldering and solidification and working.
The seminar will be attended by those dealing in gems and jewellery and government officials, including PGJDC Chairman Matiullah Sheikh, Director General, Pakistan Standard Quality Control Authority, National Industrial Park, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, and PUESDAC chairman.
