NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has emphasised the need for evolving a comprehensive mechanism with joint co-operation of National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) and Central Board of Revenue (CBR) to check car-lifting and identifying non-customs-paid vehicles and assured all-out support of his government despite meagre resources.
Presiding over a meeting with Nadra Chairman Brigadier Salim regarding identification of non-customs-paid vehicles and new training system at Chief Minister's Secretariat on Thursday. IGP Sharif Virk, additional IGP investigation Fayyaz Toru, secretary establishment Mian Sahib Jan, Nadra Peshawar director general Brigadier Anwar Khan and other officials were present in the meeting. The meeting was briefed about the newly formulated Nadra policy "Identification of vehicles and new tracking system."
Chief Minister on this occasion directed for convening a joint meeting of minister for Information Technology and high level police officials to find out that where and how much benefit could be acquired of the new research and tracking system of Nadra in order to check criminal activities. It was decided in the meeting that initially checking and monitoring check posts would be established at some important parts of Sadar area and increase in such check posts would be carried out later.
