Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has approved a grant of Rs 50 million for the construction of Falena dam, which will be used for providing clean drinking water to people.
Parliamentary Secretary for Local Bodies, Raja Rashid Hafiz said this while addressing a gathering at the inauguration ceremony of tube-well at Union Council 35 here on Thursday.
Chief Minister has also ordered construction of boundary wall around the Rawal Lake to protect water from polluting by dead animals. He said that Punjab government is utilising every possible resource to provide clean drinking water to the citizens of Rawalpindi.
He said that unprecedented development projects have been started in the district under the special instruction of Chief Minister to uplift living standard of people.
