A three-year health plan costing Rs 220 million would soon be initiated in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of Sialkot district and the Punjab government had released Rs 30.50 million as first instalment for the programme revealed District Nazim Sialkot Muhammad Akmal Cheema.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday he said that under the programme a new dental unit, provision of dialyses machines and x-ray unit and a fully equipped ambulance was being provided to Allama Iqbal government hospital, he disclosed.
The District Nazim further said that under the programme gynaecology and obstetrics words were being upgraded in Tehsil headquarter hospital Pasrur while fully equipped ambulance would also be provided to the hospital. Similarly, a fully equipped ambulance would also be provided to Sardar Begum government hospital Sialkot to facilitate the patients, he said.
Under the three-year programme efforts would be made for equipping the government hospitals with modern machinery for mitigating the peoples problems and ensure quality treatment facilities, he said. Akmal Cheema said that Allama Iqbal hospital would be converted into a model hospital aimed at making it a good nursing home for sick and solace for the ailing.
The Sialkot district Nazim disclosed that in order to improve the means of communication system a special development plan had been initiated in Sialkot district. Under the programme as many as 85 roads were being constructed at cost of Rs 1.22 billion and development work on these roads was on different stages, he said.
Akmal Cheema said that special step was being taken to check the quality of material and assess the pace of development work on different projects being carried out Sialkot, Pasrur, Daska and Sambrial tehsils of the district. The District Nazim disclosed initial on mega project of Sialkot-Lahore motorway costing Rs 20 billion would soon be initiated and the completion of this motorway would open new era of development and prosperity in the area besides reduce the travelling distance between Sialkot-Lahore.
