Punjab Governor, Khalid Maqbool has stated that public-private partnership endeavour has proved very effective and this relationship would be further strengthened in the best national interest. He was addressing the ceremony of the 5th convocation of the University of Central Punjab (UCP) on Thursday.
He said that the knowledge of computer sciences was very important, as no nation could be declared completely literate without having the knowledge of information technology.
He said that the government had provided a lot of funds to Punjab to promote private sector to carry out the task while the programme would bring a rapid increase in the computer usage throughout the province.
He also said that the university had earned a lot of good reputation at local and international levels for its best performance in the field of Masters of Business Administration while its students are proud of their institution and leave no stone unturned to pay back the knowledge they have been provided in the institute.
Lieutenant General Muhammad Akram Khan (retd) said the government's policies have not only increased the number of students in the schools but the spending on the higher education sector had also increased. He pledged maximum support to the UCP for its future endeavours and urged its management to continue their services in the field of education.
The university's Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood was also present on the occasion who informed the guests that the organisation had developed itself from the ashes and now they were teaching dozens of programmes at graduation and masters levels. Mian Amer also appreciated members of Ushers including Makhdoom Asim Ali and Farah Agha for organising the programme.
