Provincial Zakat Council (PZC) in its meeting sought workable proposals from its members for the uplift of Zakat System and construction of Zakat Complex, establishment of central library and record room, practical training of the members of District Zakat Committees and provision of sufficient promotional opportunities to District Zakat Officers.
The meeting of PZC was presided over by the Chairman, Justice Muhammad Akram Baittu (Retd). It was attended by Secretary Zakat and Ushr, Tauqir Ahmed Faiq, members of the Council Dr Mehmood-ul-Hassan Arif, Hafiz Shams-ur-Rehman, Allama Zubair Ahmad Zaheer, Muhammad Jar-ullah Rizvi, Zareena Tabassum and Begum Hamid Rana besides representatives from Finance, Social Welfare and Local Government Departments.

Chairman of the Council, Justice Muhammad Akram Baittu (Retd) appreciated the proposals and termed them a milestone for the betterment of Zakat system.
He constituted a sub-committee comprising members of the council, Jar-ullah Rizvi, Administrator Zakat Punjab and Director Administration, Social Welfare Department to further review the practicability of the proposals presented in the meeting and submit final report in next meeting in this regard.
