Punjab Chief Minister's Inspection Team, Colonel Shuja Khanzada (Retd) has said that rusty pipelines of drinking water and sewerage are being replaced with a cost of Rs 5 billion while another amount of Rs 11 billion have been allocated for second phase of the project.
The minister said here on Wednesday that CMIT would monitor the schemes regarding replacement of outdated and dilapidated drinking water and sewerage lines in the province.
He disclosed that he had already constituted two teams, which would visit various areas and check the standard and pace of work regarding the replacement of water and sewerage schemes.
He said that these teams would submit their reports to Chief Minister Punjab. He said that water filtration plants are also being installed at union council level to ensure provision of clean drinking water to the people.
