Industrial Information Network (IIN), which was developed by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, drew much attention of local business community at the 8th Pakistan Information Technology Exhibition (PITEX) that concluded here the other day at Fortress Expo Centre.
IIN participated as an exhibitor in PITEX 2007 having more than 50 IT and telecommunication business organisations and software houses around. Smeda also shared the stall with IIN. The main purpose behind participating in the event was to market and promote the up-coming IIN B2B portal.
According to an estimate, the event attracted over 4,000 visitors from various sectors like financial, consulting, IT, telecom, academia and legal and all of them made special stop at the IIN stall. Most of the visitors were either involved into some business or were planning to enter into entrepreneurship in near future.
The prominent companies and individuals who visited IIN stall included the ICI, Dollar East, PITB and many more. IIN also participated in the conference held on second day of the event. Salman Khalid, Project Director (IIN) addressed the participants on e-business. In his presentation he described the importance and usability of e-business and also defined the significance and stability of IIN B2B portal.
