The lawyers' community was divided over the address of CJP as he refused to address the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and agreed to address Punjab Bar Council.
It is learnt that the President Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) who led the lawyers in protest against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan in Lahore went to Chief Justice on Tuesday for inviting him to address the LHCBA has failed to make him agree to visit the his bar. According to sources Chief Justice Pakistan will address the Punjab Bar Council (PBC) on May 05 as Hamid Khan was able to persuade CJP to visit PBC.
President LHCBA Ehsan Bohan closed relationship with the Chief Justice Lahore High Court, which caused the refusal of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to address LHCBA.
Hamid Khan Group, however, succeeded in making CJP agree to address Punjab Bar Council. Chief Justice might also address the Lahore Bar Association. It is also mentioned here that President LHCBA was elected after defeating candidate of Professional (Hamid Khan) Group and Vice-Chairman Punjab Bar Council and President Lahore Bar Association were nominated by Hamid Khan Group.
