President Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will address the bar on May 5 and added that all the political parties, human rights organisations, labours, students, teachers and other social organisations would also be invited.
While addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Ehsan Bohan said they had made six committees to organise and welcome Chief Justice of Pakistan in the bar.
He, however, said that political party leaders would not be allowed to sit in the stage and party workers to take party flags with them. He said Chief Justice would come from Islamabad by road and will address the bars in his way to Lahore. He will reach Lahore at about 4.00pm.
He said lawyers would continue their struggle for the independence of judiciary and would fight for the revival of constitutional position of Chief Justice of Pakistan. He further said lawyers would foil all attempts by the government to divide the lawyers' community and asked the bar members to keep unity among their ranks.
