The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide $3 billion to Pakistan for completion of development schemes during the year, 2007. This was stated by the ADB Vice President during an interview to a private TV channel Aaj. He said that the ADB had provided loan worth $1.5 billion to Pakistan government for completion of development projects last year.
He however, said that this amount has been doubled keeping Pakistan's economic progress in view this year. He went on to say that the ADB has been co-operating with Pakistan for the development of infrastructure in different areas.
He further said that the ADB has so far provided assistance worth $16 billion to Pakistan government for completion of different projects. He said that it was necessary for Pakistan to make further improvement in economic sector. He further said that the GDP growth rate in Pakistan would remain at 7.7 during this fiscal year.
