The NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai (Retd), on Saturday awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes to a party, comprising officials of Peshawar police and political administration of Khyber Agency for busting a kidnapping gang and recovering a kidnapped boy Muhammad Saad.
Chief Capital City Police Abdul Majid Marwat, Secretary Law and Order Fata Arbab Muhammad Arif and Political Agent Khyber Syed Amiruddin Shah were also present on the occasion.
It may be mentioned that the party, in a joint operation on Monday had not only recovered a young boy Muhammad Saad son of Haji Sami of Sabrina Tent, but had also apprehended two gangsters in the operation. Talking on the occasion the governor appreciated the joint efforts made by Peshawar police and political staff of Khyber Agency against the kidnappers.
He said that the govt was serious on the issue and would take every preventive and operational measure not only to intercept the kidnappers but also to punish them severely.
The governor expressed the hope that the law enforcing agencies, both in the province and tribal areas would strengthen their co-ordination in this regard and carry out collective operations in future as well.
The awardees included Ghulam Muhammad Khan SP, Muhammad Ejaz ASP, Ghulam Habib APA Jamrud, Shahid Ahmad SHO Pishtakhara, Khalid Mumtaz, Political Tehsildar Jamrud, Jamruz Khan Sub-Inspector CIA, Muhammad Sher Khan Sub-Inspector CIA, Pervez Khan ASI, CIA, Sultan Khan CIA, Nek Muhammad Political Naib Tehsildar Mullagori, Daud Khan Political Muharrir, Turkistan Political Muharrir and Juma Khan Line officer Jamrud.
