President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sheikh Abdul Waheed Sandal has urged the federal government to announce the special package of incentives to the Pakistan's business community for strengthening and boosting the national economy of Pakistan and jazzing up the pace of industrial and trade development.
He stated this while talking to the newsmen here. SVP Dr Sarfraz Bashir was also present on this occasion.
SCCI President said that the government should announce a special subsidised tariff on the electricity, gas and telephone bills and should make these utilities cheap for the business community.
SCCI President urged the government to make long-term trade and export policies by taking all the trade bodies into confidence while policy making, besides, ensuring the continuity of the long-term trade and export policies which are direly needed for boosting the national economy. He aid that the Pakistan's imports have shown a remarkable increase due to the reduction in import duties by the federal government, as our exports were not increasing against the volume of the imports.
The rising prices of the raw materials and enhanced cost of production were the main reasons behind the reduction in our national exports, he added.
