Sindh Minister for Revenue Dr Irfan Gul Magsi has said that the government is spending an amount of Rs 114.204 million for the establishment of Sindh Civil Services and Rural Development Academy (SCSRDA) with the objective to create skilled and trained manpower in each field and utilise the available resources in an efficient manner.
It is one of the major steps of Sindh government to make the province prosperous, the Minister said while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Sindh Civil Services and Rural Development Academy at Tando Jam on Thursday.
He said training process of the Academy would start soon. At present, the lower staff of Revenue Department and Councillor level public representatives are getting necessary training for their capacity-building, he said. In future, all the P.C.S officers, officers of different departments including Revenue, Forest and Police, public representatives including MPAs, MNAs would also take part in the training programmes for their capacity building, Irfan Magsi added.
He said training would be provided to government officers to ensure efficient deliveries to the public, transparent utilisation of funds and to have their managerial skilled developed while public representatives would get training about dealing with national and international issues, formulation of policies in national interest and process of legislation on the pattern of National Defence College Islamabad.
Earlier, Senior Member Board of Revenue Sindh Syed Anwar Hyder while addressing the ceremony said Sindh Civil Services and Rural Development Academy Tando Jam would not only prove to be a top level academy at provincial level but would be recognised as a national level institution as well.
He said all Deputy District Officers and Mukhtiarkars of Revenue Department would compulsorily attend the refresher courses in this academy.
The Director General Civil Services and Rural Development Academy Tando Jam Muhammad Ibrahim Qureshi in his welcome address termed the project a historical step of the government and added that this decision has given an institute, which is very much special for the development of any nation.
Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons, revenue Minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi said Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim during his recent visit to Hyderabad approved another scheme of Revenue Department under which all old and historical buildings of the Revenue Department would be repaired, renovated and protected as national heritage.
He said as a first phase of the scheme, the old buildings of Revenue Department situated along Thandi Sarak, Hyderabad would be repaired and renovated.
Responding to another question, he said the Revenue officers have identified as many as 22,000 acres of land illegally occupied by the grabbers. The Department while taking action against the grabbers, recovered 3500 acres land so far while 50 percent more land would be got recovered within couple of months. He said this action would be continued till complete recovery of land from the grabbers.
