Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem, and the reigning Silver flyweight champion has achieved yet another feat for his country after attaining second spot in the World Boxing Council (WBC) rankings.
The Quetta-based Pakistani boxer successfully defended his WBC silver flyweight title after defeating a Philippines boxer, in November last year.
The Pakistani boxer, who is also known as Falcon Khan, has remained unbeaten throughout his career spanning five matches, and now eyes the top spot in the WBC Flyweight category.
The talented boxer had won the WBC Silver Flyweight Championship in July 2014, defeating Jether Oliva becoming the first South Asian boxer to win the boxing title.
The Champion sportsmen had achieved several accolades in the process, including the Rs30 million grant. Previously, the boxer was awarded Rs2.5 million by Javed Afridi, the owner of Pakistan Super Leagues franchise Peshawar Zalmi. Afridi also announced that Waseem would be Zalmis new brand ambassador during the second edition of the league.
