Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has placed around 2,300 fresh computer science graduates to complete their internships in the local IT industry.
The graduates, hailing from 205 universities and institutes, have been provided internship under PSEB's programme to groom them to make the smooth transition between their education, and prepared them to face practical challenges of working in the industry.
The programme envisages placement of 2,500 fresh graduates in the IT companies and departments of public and private sector organisations, an official at IT ministry on Wednesday. He said out of 2,300 graduates placed, around 1,600 have completed their internships while the remaining candidates are in the process of completing their internships.
The official said 40 trainees have been placed in the computer graphics, animation and games development industry. In English language training, 150 out of 500 graduates completed their course from the National University of Modern Language (NUML).
This program also aims to develop confidence among the IT business managers regarding the output of IT-oriented educational institutes and helps bridge the gap between the IT industry and the academic institutions, and is trying to mould fresh graduates into world-class professionals.
