The ministry of railways has failed to hand over possession of industrial land near Port Qasim to the allottees despite the fact that the ministry of ports and shipping has made full payment to the railway ministry in January 2006, said Ports and Shipping Minister Babar Khan Ghauri.
Speaking in response to a calling attention notice moved by Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, MNA, he said he was also surprised that the possession of the land was not handed over and asked the National Assembly Speaker to intervene into the matter for resolving the issue as early as possible.
"We have paid Rs 440.73 million to the railway ministry around one and half years ago," he told the house.
Babar Khan Ghauri said that apparently some bureaucratic hurdles are in action to delay the transfer of land. He said that his ministry would hand over the plots to the allottees as soon as the land was handed over to his ministry. NA Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain directed the railway minister to inform the house about the exact situation on Monday.
