The Karachi Port handled 76,211 tonnes cargo including 46,633 tonnes import, 29,578 tonnes export cargo and 1,489 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 59,111 tonnes dry cargo including 22,320 tonnes general cargo; 5,701 tonnes fertiliser; 13,122 tonnes coal; 11,600 tonnes rock phosphate; 679 tonnes rice; 5,220 tonnes cement; 469 tonnes wheat and 17,100 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Ten ships namely Hyundai Sprinter, Lalazar, Y M Moon, Beluga Fascination, Yick Wing, Dominator, Kota Halus, Y M Faha, Naftocement-XI and Kota Perkasa sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Oel Victory, Y M Faha, Kota Halus, Star-1 and Ashraf Bay are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Ms Simon and Pan Voyager expected to sail on Friday, while four vessels viz Overseas Primar, Danica Four, Oel Victory and Sea Veteran are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four vessels viz Regent, Al-Soor-II, Corinthiakos and Safinaz due to arrive on Friday, while five ships namely Battery Park, Kuo Chang, Nordwogr, Gallant Wave and Ltc Calvan P. Titus are due to arrive on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 19,907 tonnes furnace oil; 4,122 tonnes edible oil, 100 tonnes chemicals; 3,675 tonnes rice; 2,710 tonnes wheat and 35,309 tonnes containerised cargo.
Five ships namely C.V. ACX Jasmine, C.V. Al-Mirqab, M.V. Myong San, M.T. Liquid Success and M.T. Iver Progress sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
One vessel viz M.T. Valeriy Chkalov is expected to sail on Friday.
A total of five ships carrying furnace oil, edible oil, cement, seeds and containers namely Stella, Doris, Portland Bay, Afamia and CSAV Ningbo are currently at the outer anchorage.
Four ships namely C.V. CSAV Ningbo, C.V. Sema Paya, M.V. Portland Bay and M.V. Captain George-L due to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and IOC Berth respectively on Friday.
Three vessels viz M.V. Noor-e-Mustafa, M.T. Golden Glory and M.T. Eastern Tera due to arrive on Friday, while three more ships namely C.V. CMA CGM Turkey, C.V. MSC Nederland and C.V. Maersk Barry are due to arrive on Saturday.
