During this first visit our president Lech Kaczynski said: Historical ties connect us. I must say that I did not know that so many people from my country had taken refuge in Pakistan, that in quite distant times, though still remembered by my generation, Polish pilots served in the Pakistani air force.
I am very happy about these connections, because they constitute a good basis for tightening cooperation between our two countries and nations. And this is needed - in my opinion - both to Poland and Pakistan as well as world peace, which is after all the supreme value.
