Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon met the Kuwaiti Minister for Energy Shaikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah here and discussed ways and means to promote oil & gas co-operation between the two brotherly Muslim countries.
During the meeting, both sides agreed that there exists a lot of potential for expanding the existing level of co-operation between the two countries in diversified fields particularly the oil & gas for their mutual advantage.
Jadoon briefed his Kuwaiti counterpart about the steps being taken by the government of Pakistan for promoting the energy sector on modern line and efforts for exploring the untapped hydrocarbon deposit sedimentary area of 627,000 sq. kms.
He explained the salient features of incentives being offered by the government to the prospective investors in the upstream and downstream petroleum sectors. He told that the government was improving these incentives in the new petroleum policy to be announced shortly.
Jadoon also informed the Kuwaiti minister about the upcoming petroleum projects which include tran-snational gas pipeline LNG, gas storages, oil refineries and terminals and invited the Kuwaiti companies to take benefit from these opportunities.
Kuwaiti energy minister appreciated the tremendous growth of economic and petroleum sectors of Pakistan during the last few years and broad spectrum of investment opportunities available to the prospective investors in the oil & gas. He said that Kuwaiti companies would take full advantage of the oil & gas investment opportunities for their mutual benefit.
