The Karachi Port handled 193,926 tonnes cargo including 112,177 tonnes import, 81,749 tonnes export cargo and 3,548 containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 135,844 tonnes dry cargo including 118,846 tonnes general cargo; 2,378 tonnes fertiliser; 2,476 tonnes rock phosphate; 10,552 tonnes cement; 1,593 tonnes wheat and 58,082 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Thirteen ships namely Oel Victory, Nordwoge, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Kuo Chang, Mol Asante, Zahra-Iv, Danica Four, M.T. Swat, Gulf Flower-1, Aboudi, Safinaz, Pacific Arrow and Peterpaul sailed out to sea during the report period.
Thirteen vessels viz Aqaba Express, Asian Queen, Kuo Chang, Nordwoge, Gallant Wave, Ltc Calvan P. Titu, Mol Asante, China Star, Mol Ability, Tarpon Santiago, Peterpaul, Al-Soor-II and Regent are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Gallant Wave, Corinthiakos and China Star expected to sail on Monday, while three vessels viz Al-Soor-II, GHD Husnain-8 and Mol Ability are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four vessels viz Olympic, Battery Park, Nyzdan and Athos-1 due to arrive on Monday, while six ships namely Chemstar Brave, Apl Brisbane, Tower Bridge, Iran Hesabi, Golina and Khairpur are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 26,765 tonnes furnace oil; 5,330 tonnes edible oil, 7,159 tonnes canola seeds; 18,288 tonnes iron ore; 8,993 tonnes chemicals; 1,745 tonnes rice and 53,380 tonnes containerised cargo. Three ships namely C.V. CMA CGM Turkey, C.V. MSC Nederland and M.T. Stella sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
Three vessels viz C.V. MSC Briana, C.V. Gagdad and M.T. Liquid Success are expected to sail on Monday. A total of eight ships carrying containers, furnace oil, diesel oil, chemicals, iron ore, general cargo, sugar, edible oil, furnace oil and cement namely Bagdad, Maersk Carolina, Golden Glory, Lady Jasmine, Oriental Miho, Afamia, Al-Mirqab and Gri Goroussa-1 are currently at the outer anchorage.
Four ships namely C.V. Maersk Carolina, C.V. Bagdad, M.T. Al-Mirqab and M.T. Golden Glory due to take berths at Container Terminal, Fotco Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Monday. M.T. Oriental Miho due to arrive on Monday, while two more ships namely C.V. Nedlloye Africa and M.T. Eastern Tera are due to arrive on Tuesday.
