The Opposition parties on Tuesday said the plan to impose emergency showed that situation had slipped out of control of the government. They warned against repeating the mistakes. The situation is not so worst that an emergency is imposed in the country, said Syed Fakhar Imam, former Speaker of National Assembly and a leader of PPP.
Talking to newsmen here, he said the government had failed on all fronts, saying if emergency was imposed in the country, it would bring people on roads that would badly undermine national security and stability.
Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, MNA of PML-N said unprecedented reception of Chief Justice in Lahore had proved that masses had given verdict against the government. "The rulers instead of holding elections want to impose emergency in the country," he added. Poverty, unemployment and unrest have gripped the country and people are insecure due to wrong policies of the government, he added.
