Punjab University Lahore on Tuesday signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Chittagong University and Rajshahi University of Bangladesh to extend collaboration in the field of education.
According to the MoUs, the universities would cooperate in various fields including exchange of academic staff, researchers and students in the fields of mutual interest, research publications and other information, co-operation and consultation in curriculum development, promotions of joint research projects, co-operation and consultation in programmes for faculty development, organisation of joint symposia, workshops and conferences in area of expertise of the parties, scientific publications, journals, university calendars, prospectuses, textbooks, course outlines, reference materials and online resources, exploration and identification of future areas of co-operation, tapping of funds for collaborative research and academic activities and functioning as a branch office of the partner university to publicise partner universities.
The MoUs were signed during a visit of an academic delegation of Bangladesh who visited Punjab University on Tuesday. vice-chancellor University of Chittagong Professor M Badi Alam led the delegation, which was also accompanied with Chairperson Department of Political Science Professor Dr Rashida Khanam and Chairman Department of International Relations Professor Dr M Emadul Haq, and vice-chancellor University of Rajshahi Professor Dr M. Altaf Hussain, Director Institute of Education and Research Dr Muhammad Nazar-ur-Islam and Professor Dr Begum Athma Siddqui of Department of Law and Justice.
Later the delegation also visited the School of Biological Sciences and Institute of Communication Studies where the Director General of SBS and the Director of ICS welcomed the delegations and briefed them about their institutions.
