The Punjab Teachers' Union on Tuesday announced to boycott schools across the province and stage a protest demonstration in front of Multan Press Club on May 15, which would be attended by the teachers of Southern Punjab.
A spokesman of the Union said they were going on strike and would hold protest meetings in different cities because government teachers had not received notification of their teaching allowances.
According to schedule the protest meetings would be held on May 10 at Government Islamia High School Sheranwala Gate (Lahore), May 14 in Rawalpindi, May 15 in Multan, a rally on May 16 in Lahore from Masjid-e-Shuhada to Governor's House and May 23 in Islamabad from Aabpara to Parliament House.
