Intelligence agencies have warned the PTCL management that terrorists and suicide bombers have planned attacks on PTCL installations and telephone exchanges and challenge the writ of the government. In a letter intelligence agencies have warned that terrorist may target the communication centres to further discredit the authority of the state.
Some extremist political dissidents in connivance with the anti-state elements may resort to sabotage activities. The PTCL management has urged the regional managers and senior engineers in the districts to take necessary measures to prevent any untoward incident.
The letter warned that militants may carry out suicide attacks at telephone exchanges in the coming months. It stated that some terrorists had already entered Punjab from Waziristan to launch suicide attacks. Sources told that terrorists were planning attacks on the communication installation. General Manager said the Security has been beefed up in and around the installation to avert any untoward incident.
