Former President Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) and Vice President South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) (Punjab) Jalil Hassan Akhtar Raja here on Saturday has severally condemned attack on Aaj Television and has termed it as another attempt by vested interests to obliterate press freedom in the Country.
He said Aaj has remained as one of the channels that had created its mass impact on middle class intelligentsia and had risen as spokes channel of masses and was delivering equitable reporting to opposition in the same time.
He said that the taste of this trend had yet not been developed by elements opposed to democracy and constant threat situation had been their tool to change the situation in their favour. He vowed that all the media organisations of Pakistan as well as South Asia had been apprised of this situation and there had been severe criticism by them of such happenings. He said media organisations would take a collective severe action against those element opposed to press freedom, if such threats remained unchecked in future.
