On behalf of the Ministry of Water and Power, I offer felicitations to Attock Group of Companies on the Ground-breaking Ceremony of Attock Gen Limited.
Today we are looking towards different options to bridge the deficit of electricity. We need to provide electricity to remote areas. Provision of electricity to such areas would generate economic activity, which in turn would create employment opportunities, poverty alleviation and improvement in health and social uplift.
The addition of 165 MW by AGL is not a small achievement, and is representative of the Attock Group's continued commitment towards the economic development and prosperity of Pakistan.
At an estimated cost of US $ 165 Million, this power plant is the first Independent Power Producer (IPP) located North of Lahore under the 2002 Power Policy. All my best wishes are with the Attock Group of Companies.
