BEIRUT: Iran's oil production will reach four million barrels per day (bpd) by April 20, deputy oil minister Ali Kardor said in an interview published on Wednesday in the Seda weekly magazine.
Tenders for the south Azadegan oil field will also be held no later than April 20, he said in the interview, adding he expected production at the field to reach 80,000 bpd by the first week of April.
Kardor said no oil contracts requiring a tender would be signed before presidential elections in May.
"But the contracts that don't require a tender are a different story," Kardor said, according to Seda.
No further details were given in the interview on how the non-tender contracts may differ.
