The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) demanded resignation of President General Musharraf and sought registration of a criminal case against him and Governor Sindh over the killing of a bar member, assistant registrar, and innocent citizens of Karachi.
The bar also called upon President Musharraf to appoint an independent election commission to hold free, fair and impartial elections to hand over the government to the real representatives of people of Pakistan.
The bar in its emergent meeting held with President Ehsan Bohan in chair, called upon the government to withdraw reference against Chief Justice Pakistan and revive his constitutional position immediately. The bar also demanded the government to arrest the culprits involved in killing of innocent citizens of Karachi and give them exemplary punishments in accordance with the law.
The bar members expressed their determination to continue its struggle till the revival of Chief Justice of Pakistan and supremacy of the constitution. Among others President bar Ehsan Bohan, Secretary bar Sarfraz Chaudhry, Malik Saeed Hasan, Khawar Mehmood, Khuram Latif, Wali Muhammad and Asma Jehangir addressed the meeting.
