Parveen Akhtar alias Munni Baji, a well-know radio artist especially popular among the children, died here on Monday after a brief illness, family sources said. Aged about 75 years, Munni Baji had started her career with All India Radio. Later she moved to Pakistan and joined Radio Pakistan.
Her career spanned several decades and for several years she was compere of a famous programme of Radio Pakistan Karachi for the children "Bachon ki Dunia". She was laid to rest at a local graveyard later in the evening, the family sources added.
